Dear Community Members, Happy New Year!
On behalf of the Central Ohio Nepali Association (CONA), I extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us in celebrating Nepali New Year this past Saturday. Your presence, enthusiasm, and positive feedback have truly encouraged us and strengthened our sense of community.
We are grateful to Bikram Tamang for capturing the beautiful moments from the event. The photos have been shared on our official CONA Facebook group for all to enjoy.
I would also like to recognize our dedicated Nepali language instructors, Jyoti Adhikari and Sharmila Paudel, who continue to serve both as teachers and as valued members of the CONA Executive Committee. We were all deeply impressed by the Nepali class students who confidently sang the Nepali National Anthem and introduced themselves in Nepali.
Additionally, we appreciate the efforts of our Vice President, Raksha Dahal, for coordinating with the Hindu Temple to include Nepali classes in its educational programs.
This memorable celebration would not have been possible without the hard work of our Executive Committee members – Devesh Dhungana, Smply Nabinem, and Arati Arati – whose dedication ensured a smooth and successful event. Some other executive members were unable to join us on Saturday – we missed you Smriti Dahal, Rasna Pradhan, and Paras Baral.
A special acknowledgment goes to our outstanding emcee duo, Shrestha Laxmi and Sushma Choudhary, for guiding the program with energy and grace.
We also extend our sincere thanks to our local talented performers, Yam Baral, and Intra Foundation, whose contributions helped make this one of the most remarkable programs CONA has organized in recent years.
Our appreciation goes to Sandip Singh and the entire team at Everest Cuisine Columbus for serving delicious and authentic Nepali food that added so much warmth to the celebration.
Finally, thank you to each and every one of you for joining us and supporting CONA’s mission to celebrate and preserve our culture. Please stay tuned – dates for upcoming events, including the CONA Picnic, Arts in the Park, and Dashain Party, will be announced soon.
With gratitude,
Anand R. Tiwari
